The Wedding Sitters Inc since 2003. She started the company from a brilliant idea envisioned by her mother, Rita Vitro, who had been in the childcare industry for over 30 years. Rita was approached on several occasions by her friends and family to babysit their children while they attended a wedding. Rita realized after baby-sitting during several more weddings that a child care service exclusively for weddings was long overdue! Laura decided to use to her background in marketing to research the concept. The idea proved to be an innovative new service that would offer a major convenience for parents attending a wedding. The parents could have a good time at the wedding. Out of town parents would be able to bring their children on the trip even if the wedding was child free. FAQ's - My wedding is already costing a fortune and I can't afford another expense such as a childcare service for my guests children. Any suggestions?
One option would be pass along The Wedding Sitter information to your guests and have the guests pay for the service themselves. Our second suggestion is to keep in mind that although you already paying thousands and thousands of dollars for flowers, the reception, etc it is very important to recognize that paying a few hundred dollars to have a reputable company care for your guests children is crucial! The Wedding Sitters is a reputable company with notable articles in Brides, Elegant Wedding and Delaware Today magazines. Making sure the children are safe and in good hands is more important then any other wedding expense!
- How do I reserve a Wedding Sitter?
Please contact us for a reservation form. We only require a $50 deposit to hold your wedding date. It is highly recommended that you reserve your wedding date as soon as possible to guarantee a Wedding Sitter for that date and to guarantee our current rates. Our rates increase periodically due to the high demand for our service.
- When is the best time to bring the children to the sitter?
Most parents bring their children to the sitter during cocktail hour. Giving them more time to relax and have fun. We suggest, if the children are going to be with our sitter during the dinner hour, there is no need to purchase a dinner plate for them at the reception. We provide tea sandwiches (upon request), cupcakes and snacks. The children will have a great time at our tea parties!
- I am a guest at a wedding, do I need to contact the bride to hire your services?
No, not only are we hired by wedding parties but we are also contacted by guests as well. You do not need to involve the wedding party to use our services. We can babysit at the guest hotel or in a separate room at the reception.
- Is there an age limit?
There is no age limit. We have qualified caregivers for all age groups. Including infants.
- My fiance has alot of out of town guests with children but we are having a child free wedding. Any suggestions?
Our services are not only available at the reception but also at the guest hotel. For convenience of the out of town guests our sitters can provided child care at the hotel.
